Crowe's Federal Tax Consulting Services (FTCS) practice delivers specialized federal tax consulting to clients ranging from middle-market companies to the Fortune 500, incorporating cutting-edge technology in a team-based approach. We are seeking a Senior Associate to support projects in federal credits, including research and development (R&D) tax credits. The successful candidate will contribute to client delivery, mentor associates, and develop technical skills to help drive the practice forward. Key Responsibilities and Skills
Execute project work plans, including reviewing data and supporting documentation for R&D tax credits under IRC Sections 41 and 174 Assist in leading technical interviews with client personnel, such as scientists and engineers, to gather key project details Prepare and review quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx Assist in leading client meetings and internal team discussions to communicate project progress and findings Support client relationships by delivering exceptional client service and fostering collaboration with stakeholders Mentor and train associates through on-the-job technical guidance and coaching, helping them build foundational skills in tax consulting and technology Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a focus on innovative and efficient solutions Collaborate with managers and senior leadership to manage risk, conduct reviews, and deliver high-quality outcomes Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations This role offers a unique opportunity to further develop technical expertise and contribute to a high-performing, technology-driven tax consulting team Qualifications
2+ years of experience performing R&D Tax Credit and Section 174 studies Bachelor's degree in accounting or engineering; MST is a plus Advanced credential (e.g., CPA, EA, PE, JD) preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience in the subject matter areas described above is preferred We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe's values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship.
