Overview LVI Associates is seeking a highly skilled and design-oriented Structural CAD & BIM Technician on behalf of a structural engineering firm. This role focuses on delivering technically precise and architecturally integrated documentation for a wide range of building projects. The successful candidate will support the engineering team through the development of detailed Revit and AutoCAD models, ensuring that every project meets high standards of quality, coordination, and design excellence. Projects range from custom residential homes to complex commercial structures, contributing to visionary architecture through accurate structural documentation. What you’ll do As a Structural CAD & BIM Technician, you will be responsible for producing and managing high-quality structural documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. You will work closely with engineers and architects to develop models that reflect both structural integrity and architectural intent. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed construction documents, developing structural details, and ensuring that drawings are coordinated across disciplines. You will also assist in internal design reviews, contribute to the refinement of structural systems, and support the implementation of BIM standards and workflows. Additionally, you will help develop custom Revit families and templates to improve efficiency and consistency, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience using Revit and AutoCAD in a structural or architectural setting. Strong understanding of structural systems and the ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. Demonstrated experience producing construction documents for residential, commercial, or institutional buildings. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach. Familiarity with BIM coordination processes, clash detection tools, and Revit family creation is highly desirable. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a background in structural engineering is preferred but not required. Appreciation for architectural design and a desire to contribute to projects that push the boundaries of conventional engineering.
