The primary difference between job levels ties to skill level, complexity of the problem solving, and year of experience. Job assignments will be based on experience, job opening and budget availability, and the performance level of the incumbent.

Summary of job duties

Take ownership of assigned projects to ensure completion on time, on budget, and in compliance with regulations.

Provide technical input to program management related to engineering components of the project for the creation of the project schedule; identify project elements and phases, sequence elements, and time estimates. For example, check program schedule to ensure integration with concurrent projects and validates resource availability (manpower, software, materials, systems, etc.).

Perform technical analysis, review specifications, and product design to develop a cost and time estimate.

Monitor project progress and recommend schedule changes based on re-prioritization, materials availability, and as customer needs change.

Assess impact of customer changes, time, cost, materials, and processes.

Identify necessary tests that must be conducted during the engineering process. Monitor to ensure the completion of tests such as functionality, durability, and safety.

Provide regular verbal or written updates based on KPIs and project status. Analyze data and recommend corrective action as needed.

Monitor the work of Design Engineers for accuracy and technical competence; provide feedback as needed.

Develop and maintain standard list of notes for use on 2D engineering drawings.

May work with management and sales teams to review project proposals; identify and address potential issues as needed.

Maintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the company’s information and products.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested.

Education and General Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline is required.

Experience

Level I: 0-2 years of engineering experience

Level II: 2-5 years of engineering experience

Level III: 5+ years of engineering experience

Skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to lead a team comprised of multiple disciplines

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Expert level of experience with CATIA V5

Ability to communicate and present to a variety of stakeholders (e.g., customers, OEM)

Proficiency with MS Office applications

Preferred Skills/Experience

MS Project

PLM system knowledge

AutoCAD familiarity

Other

May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.

Must show proof of ability to work in the United States.

Supervision provided to the position

Level I: Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and objectives and measured based upon how well objectives have been met. Receives detailed instructions as needed.

Level II: Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will autonomously work on routine programs/tasks with frequent status updates to supervisor. Will be provided with additional guidance on more complex or non-routine tasks.

Level III: Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will work autonomously with only occasional status updates with supervisor.

Leadership responsibility Oversees the work of others. Assists in the training and coaching of project team members as assigned. Assist in driving the achievement of key initiatives of the project.

Compensation & Benefits Elevate Aircraft Seating offers competitive wages and benefits. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and internal equity.

Salary Range Transparency:

$110,000 - $130,000

annually
