Overview
Senior Counsel, Corporate (Technology Transactions) – Irvine, California. The Senior Counsel is responsible for facilitating Hyundai Capital America (HCA) business transactions by providing legal support and advice to in-house clients on corporate and commercial transactions, including collaboration with OEMs and other strategic initiatives. The role coordinates with outside counsel on complex contracts and projects, and supports product development and new initiatives. What You Will Do
Provide transactional legal support to support strategic initiatives and new product launches, including negotiating, drafting, and/or reviewing a wide variety of corporate and commercial agreements (e.g., software as a service, rental and equipment lease, licensing, marketing, and product or service agreements relevant to HCA business needs). Negotiate and review contracts, collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel as needed, and ensure alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. What You Will Bring
Minimum 5 years of legal experience, preferably in a large law firm or corporate legal department, with a focus on corporate and commercial transactions. Knowledge of the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar privacy laws preferred. Juris Doctor Degree; member in good standing of a state bar (CA preferred). CIPP certification a plus. Excellent analytical, contract interpretation and negotiation skills. Disciplined work ethic and ability to manage time and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of contractual issues and terms; strong attention to detail to spot issues and deadlines. Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate complex legal issues in clear, concise terms to all levels of the organization. Ability to research thoroughly and distill complex legal requirements into usable frameworks. Willingness to undertake substantial and diverse responsibilities; ability to work independently or as part of legal and business teams. Willingness to explore creative solutions to facilitate business initiatives; ability to build and maintain positive relationships across the organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and use various legal-technology systems and tools. Benefits & Work Environment
