Overview
Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing at Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies. This tenure‑track, full‑time position supports the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science programs with tracks in Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, as well as related programs. The university seeks candidates committed to teaching excellence, scholarly activity, and service within a diverse academic community. Responsibilities
Provide instruction to Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Nursing Practice students Demonstrate competence in teaching Review and update syllabi and ensure materials are current on the learning management system (Canvas) Instruct, develop, distribute, monitor, and grade student assignments and assessments independently Create innovative curricula utilizing experiential pedagogies and adult learning theory Participate in curriculum development, design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the program Attend, prepare for, and participate in meetings (faculty governance, retreat, university and departmental meetings); engage in community service beyond faculty requirements Engage in lifelong learning evidenced by professional and faculty development Demonstrate progressive participation and leadership in national/international professional organizations Fulfill scholarly activity requirements per promotion and tenure standards (grants, publications, presentations) Participate in university-wide and community admission/recruitment activities as required Participate in the student application process Provide advisement to and address the needs of students Maintain clinical/professional experience in line with accreditation of undergraduate and graduate programs (CCNE and AC‑PE) Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in nursing required Active New York State Registered Nurse license Specialty certification preferred, required for the graduate level 5 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level preferred 7 years of clinical experience preferred Experience with Simulation preferred Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, leadership, and time management skills Proficient in learning management systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment Preferred Qualifications Summary
