Senior Vehicle Dynamics Controls and Estimation Engineer
Maxonic is seeking a Senior Vehicle Dynamics Controls and Estimation Engineer for a direct client project. Location options: Detroit, MI or Mountain View, CA. Work schedule: Onsite 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
Design and develop vehicle dynamics control algorithms using machine learning techniques.
Integrate ML models with traditional control systems (e.g., PID, MPC) for real-time vehicle applications.
Analyze vehicle data (e.g., CAN, sensor fusion) to train, validate, and optimize control strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., software, hardware, calibration) to implement and test control systems.
Conduct simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate performance and safety.
Support deployment of control algorithms in prototype and production vehicles.
Qualifications
Vehicle Dynamics & Control Systems: Deep understanding of longitudinal, lateral, and vertical vehicle dynamics.
Experience with control system design (e.g., state-space, MPC, adaptive control).
Proficiency in supervised and reinforcement learning techniques.
Experience with time-series modeling and sensor data preprocessing.
Familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Simulation & Modeling: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, CarSim, or similar vehicle simulation tools.
Ability to model vehicle subsystems and simulate control responses.
Programming & Software Development: Strong coding skills in Python, C++, and/or embedded systems.
Familiarity with ROS, AUTOSAR, or other automotive software stacks.
Testing & Validation: Experience with HIL, SIL, and real-world vehicle testing.
Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and validation protocols.
