Required Qualifications:
Overview A leading outpatient mental health practice in Orange County, CA, ranked #1 for Psychiatry, is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with a strong interest or subspecialty in Addiction Medicine to join its mission-driven team. This is a full-scope, outpatient position with no on-call responsibility, access to interventional psychiatry, and an exceptional support system.
You’ll be joining a team of 50+ providers across 10 locations including Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Orange, Santa Ana, and Mission Viejo—delivering whole-person psychiatric care to a diverse patient population in a non-corporate, collegial environment.
Position Summary As the Addiction Psychiatrist, you will provide direct clinical care to patients with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. You’ll also help lead and shape addiction treatment services within the practice, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team and leveraging advanced modalities like TMS and nasal ketamine when clinically appropriate.
Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients with SUDs and co-occurring disorders
Prescribe and manage medications including MAT (e.g., Suboxone, Vivitrol, Naltrexone)
Develop personalized treatment plans and monitor progress toward recovery goals
Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and external partners (e.g., IOPs, detox facilities)
Serve as the clinical lead on addiction-related protocols and best practices
Support the development of addiction-focused programs and services across locations
Mentor mid-level providers and contribute to case consultations
Ensure adherence to state, federal, and organizational standards (DEA, licensing, etc.)
Integrated Support
Work within a recently upgraded EMR system optimized for reporting and usability
Leverage access to interventional psychiatry, active clinical research, and a collaborative clinical leadership team
Refer patients for TMS, nasal ketamine, or other advanced modalities as appropriate
