Overview

Radiation Therapist - PMOB Radiation Oncology – Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union) at USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice). The Radiation Therapist delivers ionizing radiation as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist to restore and enhance quality of life, eradicate or diminish disease, and maintain health. The therapist performs simulations, schedules patient treatment, and completes related billing. The position may be assigned to satellite radiation oncology locations and may be required to assist at other satellites as needed. Responsibilities

Provides Radiation Therapy services including CT Simulation and treatment delivery as an essential member of the Radiation Oncology treatment team, ensuring quality care for each patient undergoing a prescribed course of treatment. Performs effectively in emergencies, with rapid assessment and resource management to support treatment delivery. Participates in the therapeutic team approach to deliver optimal treatment and follows procedures for setups. Resolves problems, disputes, and complaints in a timely manner and informs management of issues. Uses ARIA and paperless systems properly and efficiently. Facilitates continuity of care through timely communication with all team members. Coordinates daily activities to address multiple patient needs and requests; prioritizes and coordinates appointments among departments. Evaluates daily patient responses to treatment and refers patients for appropriate management when indicated. Maintains care appropriate to patients across Age groups (Adolescence, Adult, Geriatric) including growth/development considerations and data interpretation related to age-specific needs. Maintains ethics, adheres to standards and policies regarding treatment delivery and patient care. Maintains current state/national certifications in Radiation Therapy. Maintains confidentiality of medical records and applies Radiation protection principles at all times. Completes clinical competency requirements annually and follows all policies and procedures. Performs daily and periodic quality assurance checks, detects equipment malfunctions, and takes appropriate action. Monitors daily schedule across modalities and adjusts staffing to ensure proper treatment delivery. Complies with patient time-outs and communicates issues or delays with the Radiation Oncologist, Physics, and Supervisor. Promotes positive interpersonal relations within the department and supports a collaborative work environment. Assists with daily billing to ensure procedures are properly accounted for and participates in cross-training activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent Graduate from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology (New Graduates considered) Completed a 2- or 4-year program in radiation therapy or a radiography degree with a radiation therapy certificate Knowledge of basic dosimetry, MLC, CT Simulation, and IMRT Strong technical skills and a work ethic that inspires others Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications

One year of experience as a Radiation Therapist Experience with Varian Machines (preferred Varian Truebeam) Experience with Varian EMR Bilingual Required Licenses/Certifications

Certified Radiologic Technologist (CA DPH) Radiation Therapy (ARRT) Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider – American Heart Association Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); if no card at hire, obtain within 30 days and renew by expiration date (LA City only) Compensation

The hourly rate range for this position is $53.00 - $87.45. USC considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education/training, skills, internal equity, and applicable laws and market considerations when extending offers. Job Details
