We are seeking candidates for a

Patient Financial Services Coordinator - Transplant

position at a renowned hospital in Boston, MA. This role manages the financial clearance and insurance coordination for patients undergoing transplant or IEC therapy. The coordinator acts as a liaison between clinical teams, patients, and payers to ensure timely authorization, billing accuracy, and financial preparedness throughout the transplant or IEC process. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of experience in hospital or ambulatory settings, including registration, financial counseling, and billing. This is a

contract-to-hire

position paying $22/hr for a 40-hour workweek. Qualified candidates in MA, CT, RI, NH, ME who are

100% remote

will be considered. Responsibilities:

Accept and process transplant and IEC assignments, initiate benefits review, and complete registration steps. Prepare patient introduction letters and maintain records. Verify insurance eligibility and coverage at all care phases. Submit documentation for insurance approvals and authorizations. Serve as liaison with insurance case managers and medical directors. Update clinical teams on financial clearance status. Assist with insurance denials and appeals, including peer-to-peer coordination. Educate patients and families on financial policies, coverage, and assistance programs. Prepare Financial Waivers and ABNs for limited or no coverage cases. Ensure billing compliance and accuracy, including administrative submissions. Review patient visits for transplant-related billing. Document interactions and updates in systems. Complete assigned tasks and projects as needed. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Business, or related field preferred. 1+ years in healthcare settings, including registration, billing, or financial counseling. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Epic or EMR systems is a plus. Experience with insurance verification, benefits analysis, or clinical authorizations preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT codes, and insurance standards is a plus. Understanding of managed care, prior authorization, and transplant/IEC billing. Familiarity with hematology/oncology or cellular therapy services is preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
