STAFF001523 Staff Research Associate I (Clinical Research Coordinator) – NCIRE - The Northern California Institute for Research and Education, Inc. This role supports clinical and administrative activities for studies conducted in the SFVAHCS Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Research Nurse. Position details

Base pay range: $24.11/hr - $28.87/hr NCIRE is a leading nonprofit research institute focused on Veterans health research in partnership with the SFVAHCS and the University of California, San Francisco. Responsibilities

Provide clinical and administrative support to the Principal Investigator for various studies in the SFVAHCS Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Assist with protocol development, flow sheets, data forms, and source documents; gather medical, surgical, and laboratory data; determine eligibility criteria and assist with screening, enrollment, scheduling, and retention of participants. Record protocol-specific treatments and ensure collection, processing, and shipment of samples; help maintain study schedules and data quality in study databases. Prepare reports and tables; attend team meetings and travel to study-related meetings as needed. Collaborate with faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and undergraduates in administrative and research capacities. Coordinate and participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions related to the study; assist with identifying recruitment barriers and other study activities. Contribute to quality assurance activities (monitoring visits, internal audits, sponsor audits) and ensure compliance with SOPs, GCP, and regulatory requirements. Maintain VA-sensitive information in accordance with VHA policies and guidance; assist with reimbursement submissions. Maintain and manage study-related trainings, credentials, certifications, and other materials; ensure timely renewals and provide evidence to sponsors as required. Schedule study sessions and maintain regular contact with faculty; keep the PI informed of study updates. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements

Minimum Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability to perform duties. Experience coordinating and conducting clinical research studies; preference for Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory trial experience. Knowledge of CFRs, GCP guidelines, and SOPs; prior experience with phlebotomy, specimen processing, and shipping. IATA certification or willingness to obtain within one month of hire. Willingness to learn IRB/SFVAMC R&D regulations and reporting requirements. Experience with study documentation and HIPAA regulations; ability to work with diverse interdisciplinary teams. Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment and manage multiple projects concurrently; ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, and physicians. Must maintain annual training in ethics of human subject research and GCPs. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Onboarding

NCIRE is affiliated with the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS). All candidates must complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE onboarding. SFVA is a federal agency requiring a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines, immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions. The base salary range is $24.11-$28.87 per hour. Actual offers consider geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, education, internal equity, and may include bonuses where applicable.
