Overview
Allied Universal is hiring Fire Life Safety Directors to oversee a commercial building located in the Times Square area of the Bronx. Position details Position type: Part Time Work shift: Overnight Work days: Saturday – Sunday Hourly pay rate: $31.50 – $32.50 per hour Role requires excellent customer service; interaction with the general public, clients, and staff on a daily basis Responsibilities
Oversee the building's fire safety plan and manage the Fire Command Station, fire brigade, floor wardens, deputy floor wardens, and building evacuation supervisors. Act as liaison to the NYC Fire Department during emergencies. Ensure all life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional. Coordinate fire safety teams on all floors (Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens, Building Evacuation Team members). Conduct fire alarm drills and maintain written logs to identify weaknesses in response time or life safety systems and equipment. Provide clear direction and assistance to clients, visitors, vendors, and employees during normal operations and emergencies. Assist building security in the visual inspection of visitor, vendor, and employee access badges to prevent unauthorized access. Maintain surveillance and report any suspicious persons or packages. Perform CPR/AED and basic first aid if required. Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required Must be at least 18 years old Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and the public Ability to prepare written reports and logs; may require computer skills Ability to read and understand operating procedures and instructions F85 or F89 Certificate of Fitness (NY Only) may be required Background check and post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test required Maintain current active status of all required licenses while on duty Strong customer service and communication skills; adaptable to changing environments Intermediate computer skills to utilize wireless technology at client sites Ability to maintain attendance and punctuality; neat and professional appearance Ability to handle both common and crisis situations calmly and efficiently Proficiency in English (speaking and understanding) with clear communication Ability to work under high-volume public environments Benefits & Other Information
