Overview
Supply Chain Quality Manager - PIACL role at Airbus Aircraft. This position supports on-time delivery and quality of standard parts from suppliers and their sub-tiers, assesses supplier readiness, and secures industrial quality performance to support future rates.
Location and Travel Based remotely in Orange County, CA or San Diego, CA with travel by car and plane to supplier sites located in the US and in Mexico.
Your team Airbus Procurement Operations team is composed of cross-national teams of Supply Chain Quality Managers, Specialists, and Leads across EU, North America & Asia. The team focuses on acquiring indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, ensuring on-time delivery and on-quality of equipment and systems.
Your environment Satellite office in Newport Beach, CA supporting west coast procurement operations. Flexible working arrangements where possible.
Responsibilities
Work onsite at allocated supplier sites (minimum 3 days a week).
Ensure maturity and robustness of supplier manufacturing and supply chain processes to avoid supply failures.
Drive continuous improvement of Supply Chain related performance for delivered products.
Review supplier capacity and capability to secure ramp-up and align with Airbus industrial objectives.
Monitor and analyze performance through KPIs; oversee supplier audits, assessments, recovery plans, and risk management (CID, corrective/improvement/development).
Initiate supplier ramp-up capacity and capability assessments to secure ramp-up or major planning changes.
Monitor major industrial risks, industrial transfers, and design changes from an industrial perspective to protect Airbus operations.
Initiate and follow recovery plans with suppliers for degraded delivery performance.
Manage suppliers' preventive/corrective action plans to achieve expected end results.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (MFT leaders, Programs, FALs) including communication and improvement actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent; experience may substitute education.
8+ years in a procurement operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools, APQP, problem solving, QMS, auditing, risk management, and Lean Six Sigma (desirable).
Valid driver’s license.
Green Belt/Black Belt or CPIM certification is desirable.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: 130,000 to 145,000 USD/year (variable part may apply).
