Lead Supply Chain Quality Manager - PIMC Airbus is seeking a Lead Supply Chain Quality Manager to join the Procurement department based in North America. The position supports on-time delivery and quality of standard parts from suppliers and their sub-tiers; assesses supplier readiness; ensures industrial quality performance to support future rates; and consolidates the industrial risk outlook and mitigation actions. The role is based in the Kingston, NC area or at a nearby major airport location. Occasional on-site work with suppliers is expected (minimum 3 days per week).

Meet the team Airbus Procurement Operations is a cross-national team of Supply Chain Quality Managers, Specialists, and Leads across Europe, North America and Asia. The team aims to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, ensuring on-time delivery and quality, and mitigating supply chain issues through practical problem solving and collaboration.

Your responsibilities

Act as focal point towards suppliers for operational activities and contract management, and as ambassador of the supplier toward internal functions.

Work on-site at supplier locations as required (minimum 3 days per week).

Ensure maturity and robustness of supplier manufacturing and supply chain processes to avoid supply failures.

Manage supplier quality approvals/authorizations and ensure compliance with certifications in coordination with stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement of supply chain performance for delivered products.

Review supplier capacity and capability to secure ramp-up and align with Airbus industrial objectives.

Monitor and analyze performance via KPIs; perform audits, assessments, recovery plans; manage CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development) and industrial risks with internal and external parties.

Organize supplier ramp-up assessments to secure ramp-up or major planning changes.

Monitor major industrial risks and design changes from an industrial perspective to protect Airbus operations.

Initiate and follow recovery plans with suppliers when delivery performance degrades.

Manage preventive/corrective action plans to achieve expected end results.

Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (MFT leaders, Programs, FALs/pre-FALs) including communication and improvement actions.

Coordinate with operational teams to ensure relevant functions contribute to procured goods/services delivery.

Develop cross-functional teamwork and apply practical problem-solving tools.

Support change management to help teams adopt new ways of working.

Your qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or similar field; equivalent work experience considered.

8+ years of experience in a procurement operations environment (monitoring, auditing, supplier development) or equivalent.

Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools, APQP, practical problem solving, QMS standards, auditing/assessing, risk management, and Lean Six Sigma concepts desirable.

Knowledge of aerospace product technologies (detail parts machining, sheet metal, standard parts, composites, paints/sealants) or automotive equivalents is highly preferred.

Valid Driver’s License.

Green Belt/Black Belt certification; CPIM certification (preferred).

Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
