Overview
Be the operational engine behind a high-performing home infusion pharmacy. As the Pharmacy Director/Operator, you will oversee all daily operations including staffing, purchasing, financial management, and vendor coordination, enabling the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to focus entirely on patient care and regulatory compliance. This is a high-impact leadership role with full responsibility for business performance, operational readiness, and team development. Salary $150,000-$185,000 + 25% bonus eligibility, comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
Oversee the full scope of daily pharmacy operations, ensuring the pharmacy has everything needed to deliver outstanding patient care and maintain compliance.
Manage staffing needs, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and scheduling for pharmacy staff.
Take ownership of the P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to drive strong, sustainable performance.
Lead purchasing operations, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate procurement of pharmacy equipment, supplies, and services.
Support licensing, accreditation, and regulatory efforts in partnership with the PIC, ensuring all operational components meet compliance standards.
Identify operational gaps, anticipate pharmacy needs, and implement proactive solutions to support growth and maintain high standards.
Serve as the primary liaison between the pharmacy and leadership teams, ensuring operational visibility and alignment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with preference for pharmacy operations, home infusion, or specialty pharmacy experience.
Proven experience managing P&L, financial reporting, vendor management, and team leadership.
Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and a proactive leadership style.
Preferred Attributes
Experience supporting pharmacy operations in a home infusion or specialty pharmacy environment.
Familiarity with sterile compounding practices, USP and standards, and home infusion best practices.
Knowledge of pharmacy licensing and accreditation processes such as ACHC and URAC.
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with a focus on operational excellence.
