Sr Dir Pharmacy Trade Relations - Remote Responsibilities
Direct the oversight of Trade formulary strategies for Commercial, Exchange, Medicare Part D and/or Medicaid template formularies, including manufacturer and GPO negotiation, rate and utilization management policy creation and interpretation, formulary modeling and pull through execution activities. Lead the government programs negotiator and client team. Lead and provide oversight of Prime’s Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) strategies, ensuring effective communication and strategic collaboration with GPO for all strategies including rebate bid analysis. Manage external and internal relationships to position products and solutions within the market or with pharmaceutical manufacturers; represent company objectives to external partners and ensure manufacturers’ products are evaluated for rebate and formulary opportunities. Support client alignment and adoption of strategies; provide direction in messaging and pull-through of strategies with internal stakeholders. Develop strategic contracts such as outcomes / value-based contracts. Serve as a department resource for escalated client issues, contract analysis, and contract language needs in rebate contracting. Serve as a government affairs expert, including supporting Prime’s government affairs team and lobbyists and maintaining an understanding of policy and legislative changes. Provide Trade expertise during bids and RFP processes, including strategic direction of bid competitive positioning, rate forecasting, and presenting to prospect clients as needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience; HS diploma or GED required. 10 years of related work experience in healthcare, PBM, pharmaceutical sales, analytical contracting or business development; including 4 years in Trade / Rebates or formulary development. 5 years of people management/leadership experience. Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Additional Qualifications
Strong presenter with excellent oral and written presentation skills, and demonstrated communication and financial presentation skills to all levels of management. Ability to establish trust and build relationships at all levels within Prime. Expert negotiation and influencing skills. Strong business and financial acumen, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience reading, interpreting, and negotiating contract language. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy Degree, or other related advanced degree. Extensive experience within the PBM industry, with knowledge of Managed Medicaid, Medicare Part D, and health plans. Experience with policy and regulatory actions as it pertains to Government Programs (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act). Familiarity with contract language and risk mitigation concepts. Experience with rebates, drug spend and formulary strategies.
