Position Summary Posting Note:
Phoenix Children’s is seeking a BC/BE pediatrician to join the Crews’n Health/Homeless Youth Outreach Team, a program within the Division of Primary, Complex Care and Adolescent Medicine. The Homeless Youth Outreach Program provides comprehensive healthcare and behavioral health services to youth ages 0-25 who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Phoenix and surrounding areas. Care is provided on mobile medical units as well as licensed fixed site clinics located within local partner agencies.
This position also provides opportunities for educational leadership and participation in resident and medical student training through didactic teaching, clinical preceptorship, and mentorship. Academic appointment is available at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, Creighton University School of Medicine, and Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
Position Requirements:
MD or DO licensure, eligible for Arizona medical licensure
Board certification in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics
The ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
The ability to develop, foster and maintain a positive cohesive team environment
Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff from a diversity of backgrounds
Implement trauma informed care knowledge and techniques into daily practice
The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.
Position Duties
Patient Care Services
Provide direct patient care services on an inpatient and outpatient basis
Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up
Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures
Provide these services for urgent/emergent care as necessary
Strive to achieve the best patient and family centered care
Support Hospital’s patient satisfaction goals and division targets
Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards
Practice Contemporary Evidence based medicine or latest experience based medicine
Divisional Responsibilities
Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives
Support the medical education programs and activities of the Division
Provide direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals
Conduct teaching rounds, lectures and conference for trainees
Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals
Participate in postgraduate continuing educational activities of the division
Support the research endeavors of the division
Support programmatic growth of division
Support satellite efforts of division when appropriate
Professionalism
Treat colleagues, Phoenix Children's employees and customers with courtesy, dignity and respect
Promote safe, cooperative and professional health care environment
Support Phoenix Children's mission, vision and values
Other activities
Physician supports the Division Chief as liaison to the professional community
May conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children's to support divisional programs
