What you will do In this vital role you will use your experimental background in oligonucleotide chemistry and biochemistry to design, synthesize, and optimize therapeutic RNA oligonucleotides to directly support the pre-clinical pipeline within Amgen.

Hands-on laboratory role for the in-house development and optimization of oligonucleotide synthesis and analytical methods

Conjugation of lipids, carbohydrates and other building blocks to be used for therapeutic oligonucleotide delivery

Lead internal and external cross-discipline collaborations to advance an RNA therapeutic preclinical pipeline including mentoring junior scientists

Liaise with external CRO partners to implement and scale synthetic methodologies

Contribute to overall strategy, including intellectual property planning and competitive landscape assessment

Basic Qualifications

PhD and 2 years of relevant industry experience

Master's degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership/mentoring experience

Ability to effectively communicate within cross-functional teams

Experience managing and developing relationships with external vendors

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
