Anesthesiologist Assistant

The AA is a certified non-physician anesthesia provider who demonstrates excellence in all areas of anesthesia practice, including but not limited to anesthesia case management, staff education, and clinical research. The AA manages complex, unpredictable anesthesia situations. The AA must be competent in technical, cognitive, and interpersonal skills required to serve patients receiving anesthesia care and services. The AA is expected to practice within the established Medical Center guidelines, statutes established by the state medical board, anesthesia policies, procedures, protocols, and adhere to the Intensive Caring Value Statements. The AA works as a member of the patient care team and collaborates with an MDA in the anesthetic care of each patient. For Hire: Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited school for anesthesia assistants (18-month or 24-month program). Current certification from the NCCAA. Current licensure from the Ohio State Medical Board. Current ACLS certification. Must be eligible to obtain clinical privileges as designated by the OSUMC Corporate Credentialing Office.
