Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met initial appointment requirements are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA Policy. Degree: Doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school. Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency: Completed approved residency training leading to eligibility for board certification. Residency must be approved by the VA, ACGME, or AOA, or be a non-US residency followed by at least five years of verified practice in the U.S. Enrolled Residents: Eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs) if enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs. PRPs must be fully licensed and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee basis; they are not considered independent practitioners. Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Board Certification: Generally not required unless position requires supervision of trainees, faculty status, or specific VHA policy. Preferred Experience: Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management. Physical Requirements: Light lifting/carrying, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, vision, hearing, emotional stability, and ability to work closely with others or independently. Duties

This is an open-continuous announcement until July 31, 2025, or until filled. Qualified applicants are referred every two weeks.
