Core Job Functions
Provide supervision of all clinical/medical services rendered. Study radiographic images and medical reports, establish care plans for patients, and monitor patients through visits. Plan tumor localization and prescribe appropriate treatments based on clinical evidence.
Maintain liaison with other disciplines such as social services, nutritional support, speech therapy, physical therapy, pastoral care, and pain management. Participate in clinical trial accruals.
Attend and participate in cancer committee conferences, present oncology annual reports with the executive oncology director. Assume weekly on-call status on a rotation basis.
Consult with other physicians for the continuum of care.
Network with community physicians to increase referrals. Ensure fiscal compliance related to patient billing and coding, bill patients accurately for services, and document to support charges. Make recommendations on capital purchases, facility design, and operational issues. Assist with the selection of new equipment and services.
