Overview

The Sr. Director of U.S. Market Access – Cardiovascular leads and oversees market access strategies for U.S. private payers and related stakeholders to secure coverage and facilitate patient access to Medtronic cardiovascular products and therapies. This role is remote with some travel and will support multiple cardiovascular businesses including coronary, renal denervation, peripheral, and vascular therapies. We anticipate the application window for this opening will close on - 17 Sep 2025. Responsibilities

Lead the enhancement, execution, and oversight of comprehensive commercial payer, managed care, and contracting strategies aligned with business unit objectives and product portfolios. Translate business and product strategies into actionable payer engagement plans; develop national and regional, evidence-based payer strategies based on therapy evidence, market landscape, and stakeholder trends. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform payer strategy; ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company policies in payer and managed care activities. Build and lead a high-performing, geographically diverse team dedicated to payer strategy; partner with clinical, regulatory, legal, compliance, and commercial teams. Manage external relationships and contracts with consultants and service providers; conduct business reviews and support new product launches through vendor management. Represent the organization in payer advisory boards, policy work groups, and professional associations. Lead payer engagement and advocacy with payers, physician groups, and influencers; collaborate with field colleagues, advocacy organizations, and consultants to broaden payer engagement. Oversee development of market access tools and infrastructure, including data tracking, reports/dashboards, and value messaging resources for payer education. Regularly assess coverage developments and present insights to senior leadership; leverage analytics and market research to support payer and pricing strategies. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, health policy, health economics, or related field required. Minimum 8 years in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device with significant exposure to market access, payer relations, and reimbursement. Minimum 5 years in leadership roles managing payer negotiations and strategy. Track record of developing and executing payer strategies, including product launches; deep understanding of U.S. healthcare systems and regulatory environments. Expertise in influencing clinical policies of health plans for medical devices in hospital and outpatient settings; strong knowledge of fee-for-service, coding (HCPCS/CPT, ICD-10), and managed care contracting. Established relationships with commercial insurers, Medicaid, Medicare, and provider networks. Preferred: MBA or master’s in healthcare administration/policy; cardiovascular market access experience; digital technology market access experience; experience with first-in-class therapies; advanced health economics methods. Leadership: ability to build and motivate cross-functional teams, navigate ambiguity, and deliver under tight timelines. Communication: excellent written and verbal skills; capable of presenting to executives and external stakeholders. Analytical: strong data interpretation, economic evaluation, and scenario analysis skills; project management focus. Relationship Management: strong networking with payers, physicians, advocacy groups, and internal stakeholders. Technical: proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, OneDrive, and Salesforce. Travel

Approximately 25% travel with potential for higher travel during payer engagement periods. Benefits & Compensation

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package. The base salary range for U.S. locations (excl. PR) is $248,000.00 - $372,000.00. Eligible for Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) and annual long-term incentive plan.
