Open Rank- ECT Psychiatrist University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus – Department of Psychiatry. Job title (working and/or official): Open Rank- ECT Psychiatrist (Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor). Position #00821160 - Requisition #33390. The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time ECT Psychiatrist position.

Responsibilities

Providing ECT treatment.

Providing inpatient level of care on the psychiatric unit from admission until discharge.

Developing an appropriate treatment plan, monitoring progress towards goals, and determining disposition upon discharge for patients under care.

Familiarity with emergency medications, seclusion/restraint procedures, pharmacology for acute agitation, risk assessment, and treatment of substance intoxication and withdrawal.

Managing comorbid medical conditions in collaboration with inpatient medicine/surgery attendings as appropriate.

Building relationships with other departments and campuses.

Actively contributes to academic advancement of the discipline.

Keeps apprised of the latest developments in the field, academically and through applied skills.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Instructor:

1–3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. MD/DO, Colorado physician license or eligible for Colorado Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.

Senior Instructor:

1–3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. MD/DO, Colorado Physician License or Eligible for Colorado Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.

Assistant Professor:

1–3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. MD/DO, Colorado Physician License or Eligible for Colorado Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.

Associate Professor:

4–7 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. MD/DO, Colorado Physician License or Eligible for Colorado Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.

Professor:

7+ years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. MD/DO, Colorado Physician License or Eligible for Colorado Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.

Ability to manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.

Effective oral communication and ability to convey information clearly.

Excellent listening and social skills; ability to interact with people of varied backgrounds.

Professional and tactful behavior; adaptability and creativity in problem solving.

Clinical skill for conducting brief and targeted assessments; ability to work as part of a team and independently.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to community audiences.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain an organized work environment.

Computer and technology skills: Microsoft Office and familiarity with EMR systems.

Salary and Benefits

HIRING RANGE (MD/DO):

Instructor: $220,000 – $250,000

Senior Instructor: $220,000 – $250,000

Assistant Professor: $220,000 – $250,000

Associate Professor: $250,000 – $275,000

Professor: $280,000 – $310,000
