Overview
Physician - Diagnostic Radiologist role at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Richmond, VA. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and offers a comprehensive total rewards package through VHA Physician Total Rewards. Duties
Review all service, facility, VISN and VHA policies, procedures and guidelines. Document procedures, consultations, and healthcare decisions in the medical record. Supervise the administration of medications, including contrast agents, by technologists and/or nurses. Communicate emergent findings directly to the treating physician/service in a timely manner. Develop and adhere to standard procedures and protocols. Maintain, direct, and encourage radiation and MRI safety practices. Evaluate image and study quality daily and complete tech QI templates in the PACS system when image quality is suboptimal. Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; required to be on-call after hours, including weekends and holidays. Benefits & Incentives

Program specifics (award amount up to $200,000 and eligibility period one to five years) are determined after review of the EDRP application by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and possible 5 days for CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care. Liciensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (full-time with board certification). Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting. Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when required by VA policy). Degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from an approved school. Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a US state, territory, or DC. Residency training approved by VA (ACGME or AOA) or equivalent foreign residency with subsequent appropriate practice experience; eligible for board certification per VA requirements. English proficiency (written and spoken). Subject to background/security investigation and pre-employment requirements; pre-employment drug screening may be required. Preferred Experience: Radiology residency with neuroradiology fellowship preferred. Education & Certification: MD/DO from LCME-accredited or AOA-accredited schools, or ECFMG-certified foreign medical graduates as applicable. Evidence of board eligibility/certification in Radiology per VA requirements. Physical Requirements:
