Overview

In the Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Population Lead role you will assist with the recruitment of top-tier preceptors, matching students in clinical placements, and collaborate to coordinate and oversee the adult/gerontology primary care program and activities. You will also supervise faculty teaching in the adult/gero primary care track. In this role, you will also work closely with nursing students in the DNP program and may be assigned to provide hands-on instruction and guidance in classrooms, simulated care environments, and through experiential learning. Depending on expertise, qualifications, and program needs, it is possible to be assigned to teach in undergraduate or PhD programs. Starting FTE upon hire is expected to be 80%. This is a C-basis (9-month) position. This appointment is expected to start on January 2, 2026. This position requires work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Key Job Responsibilities

Serve as adult/gerontology primary care population lead which includes assisting with recruiting preceptors; identifying clinical placements; collaborating to coordinate and oversee the adult/gerontology primary care curriculum; and supporting and supervising DNP adult/gerontology primary care track faculty. Teach in DNP programs and baccalaureate (accelerated, traditional, and AD to BSN completion) or PhD programs as appropriate to expertise and program needs. Teach courses within didactic, simulated, and clinical learning environments using accepted course descriptions and course objectives. Assure students meet expectations for required clinical hours if assigned to teach clinical courses. Utilize best pedagogical practices (e.g. active learning) to engage students in learning. Collaborate with other faculty on curriculum, course planning, and assessment at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Supervise faculty teaching in the adult/gero primary care track, including activities such as managing conduct and performance, disciplining, and/or approving hours. Engage in other activities appropriate to a member of the School of Nursing academic community such as attending School meetings, participating in faculty development activities, and contributing to meeting the mission and vision of the School. Contribute to the School of Nursing mission through service activities (e.g., governance committees, outreach activities, or project task groups). Pursue areas of scholarly interest (e.g., evaluation studies to improve teaching and learning). Collaborate with colleagues in practice settings through academic-practice partnerships to contribute to student learning, practice improvement, or community outreach. Work to support and enhance the climate of excellence. Compensation

The minimum starting salary for this position is $90,500. Actual salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. For FTE less than 100%, actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status). At 80% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 80% of the advertised salary. Required Qualifications

One or more years of experience in teaching at undergraduate or graduate levels in nursing, or in professional staff development in primary or acute care settings One or more years of adult primary care experience and certification as an Adult Gero Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Family Nurse Practitioner One or more years of progressive leadership experience Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to the teaching mission of the School of Nursing. Experience with clinical instruction, active learning, competency-based teaching, simulation, and inter-professional education is desirable. Required Licenses/Certifications

APNP – Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification or eligible for certification in Wisconsin RN - Registered Nurse – Wisconsin State Licensure or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin Board Certification as an Adult/Gero Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Family Nurse Practitioner.
