Overview
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine, in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital, seeks a full-time provider to join our faculty. The candidate will be a full-time member at the level of Assistant Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding, Associate Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding, or full Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding, on the Clinician-Scholar Faculty Track. Anticipated start date is Fall/Winter 2025. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The division cares for approximately 60,000 patients per year in a state-of-the-art Emergency Department and focuses on quality of care, continuous process improvement, safety, clinical standardization, education, research, global health, and academic success.
Responsibilities
Clinical care in Pediatric Emergency Medicine within the Division of Emergency Medicine.
Engagement in research and teaching activities, with opportunities for academic growth and leadership development.
Active participation in divisional activities and collaboration with a large group of clinical pediatric physicians and a PEM fellowship program.
Qualifications
MD or DO (or foreign equivalent).
Board certified or Board eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
For H-1B visa sponsorship, graduates of foreign medical schools must have completed all 3 steps of USMLE (or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services).
Compensation and Appointments The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $17,517 - $26,276 per month ($210,212 - $315,318 annually), Associate Professors $19,858 - $29,788 per month ($238,306 - $357,458 annually), Professors $22,874 - $34,312 per month ($274,497 - $411,745 annually). Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications and may be influenced by U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations. This range includes compensation from the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to University-provided compensation. University benefit determinations apply to University compensation; CUMG-based compensation may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Academic rank at appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered with an administrative supplement (ADS).

12-month service period (July 1 – June 30) aligns with paid time off for Assistant Professors on 12-month service periods; Associate and Full Professors have indefinite appointments with similar 12-month service periods and paid time off.
Seattle Children’s Hospital serves as a tertiary referral center for the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho).
