Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Data Science and Analytics and Director of the Center for Data Science and Analytics in the School of Data Science and Analytics (SDSA). This nine-month contracted position has a preferred start date of January 2026 and will be performed in the state of Georgia. Responsibilities

Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in data science, analytics, and/or applied statistics as needed by the School. Mentor students in project-based courses, applied research labs, and sponsored research projects. Bridge the Center’s research team and external stakeholders; cultivate partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations. Develop and secure funded opportunities that generate applied research problems, provide access to datasets, and sustain faculty and student research through ongoing funding. Expand the Center’s profile through strategic partnerships, technology transfer, and delivering real-world solutions. Oversee corporate and governmental sponsored projects, including staffing, budgeting, contracting, and coordinating sponsor-research team meetings. Organize and lead major School events with external attendance to promote research visibility and student engagement. Serve as liaison to the School’s advisory board, organizing meetings and gathering strategic input. Advocate for the Center, SDSA, and KSU through public outreach and speaking engagements. Provide service to the School/College/University/professional community as a faculty member. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the School Director. Qualifications

Teaching undergraduate courses: A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related discipline is required at hire. OR A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at hire. AND A minimum of five years of industry experience in a managerial or leadership role. Teaching graduate courses: A Terminal/Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related discipline is required at hire. A minimum of five years of industry experience in a managerial or leadership role. Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of professional connections in data science, analytics, and related sectors. Experience overseeing multi-stakeholder projects, including budgeting, contracting, staffing, and sponsor engagement. Familiarity with technology transfer, intellectual property, and commercialization processes. Experience engaging stakeholders or strategic partners. Required Documents to Attach
