Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven

Production Planning and Inventory Control Manager

to oversee production scheduling, material planning, and inventory management for our sheet metal manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring that production runs smoothly, customer orders are fulfilled on time, and resources are optimized to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards. Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize workflow. Coordinate with production, engineering, and sales teams to align capacity planning with business objectives. Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate stock levels of raw materials, sheet metal, components, and finished goods. Implement and maintain ERP/MRP systems for production planning, forecasting, and inventory tracking. Monitor lead times, production capacity, and material availability to prevent shortages or delays. Establish and enforce best practices in inventory management, including cycle counts, audits, and reporting. Work with procurement to ensure timely ordering of materials and vendor alignment with production schedules. Analyze production and inventory data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost savings. Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Lead, train, and develop team members in planning and inventory control functions. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in

production planning, purchasing, scheduling, and inventory control

within a manufacturing environment (sheet metal or fabrication industry experience strongly preferred). Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JobBOSS, or similar). Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, demand forecasting, and supply chain management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-departmental collaboration abilities. Skills

APICS/CPIM or CSCP certification. Experience implementing production and inventory control best practices in sheet metal or metal fabrication. Knowledge of CAD/CAM processes and production workflows in sheet metal manufacturing.
