What you will do as a Director of Strategy & Business Planning
The Director of Strategy & Planning reports to the Vice President, Strategy & Business Planning, North America, and leads the development and execution of business strategy across the region. This role focuses on delivering strategic plans and goals through planning and program management across all North America functions, and leads the internal organizational change management program to drive achievement and sustainment of Dawn NA strategic objectives. This is a hybrid position based at our Home Office in Jackson, MI, requiring in-office presence a minimum of 3 days per week, with the ability to flex as needed, and up to 20% travel. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Jackson. North America Strategic Planning & Execution
Responsible for managing the North America business planning process that contributes to the achievement of NA annualized strategic sales and operating income targets and aligns with multi-year strategic targets. Oversee prioritized growth and efficiency initiatives essential for delivering strategic P&L improvements and long-term business model changes. Act as an internal consultant to shape and develop solutions to key strategic issues and opportunities (e.g., transformation initiatives, M&A opportunities), design capabilities, collaborate with cross-functional partners to determine resources and ownership, drive prioritization, and implement decisions to deliver results. Drive & Enhance Organizational Change Management in North America
Promote and reinforce the use of Dawn's OCM toolkit. Continuously improve internal processes and tools based on best practices and feedback. Oversee the execution of strategic change initiatives, ensuring changes are implemented according to plan and addressing issues as they arise. Lead and coach North America Change Partners in change management activities. Share best practices and consult with teams to improve change management effectiveness and adoption. Lead monthly change partner network meetings to share OCM strategies and practices. Build a Foundation for Future Strategic Shifts in North America
Lead planning and execution of internal and external research and analysis to identify key growth or efficiency opportunities. Partner with Market Research and Insights in design and execution of research. Develop business scenarios and financial cases to drive leadership direction and decision-making. Engage in ad-hoc strategy and research projects identified by the Dawn Leadership Team. Other duties as assigned. What It Takes to be a Director of Strategy & Business Planning
Minimum qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED is required Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required A Master’s degree/MBA is strongly preferred Minimum of 10 years of broad business experience across sales, finance, marketing, or business consulting/planning Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic and business planning, and leading complex cross-functional initiatives Minimum of 5 years of project/program management experience delivering initiatives to plan (budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, risk management) Minimum of 5 years of experience leading people directly or through cross-functional projects Experience in a B2B environment; food industry/bakery experience is highly preferred but not required Professional training in Project Management and Organizational Change Management; certifications preferred Proven ability to influence leaders, external partners, and customers through strong relationship-building Ability to work in a matrixed environment and adapt tactics to the audience Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to translate insights into opportunities; storytelling skills Proven ability to manage large-scale strategic initiatives and multitask effectively Data-driven with a track record of using data to measure performance and drive decisions Experience leveraging Gen AI is desirable Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Benefits & Equal Opportunity
