Ultrasound Sonographer (Part-Time) - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Overview
The Division of Reproductive Medicine is hiring an Ultrasound Sonographer to help us BUILD FAMILIES. This individual will assist with IVF monitoring visits and embryo transfers. We seek detail-oriented individuals ready to provide compassionate care. Experience in OBGYN, Viewpoint, and Epic is helpful but not required. Opportunity to participate in research and work alongside experts in IVF using advanced technology.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, records patient history with the examination, and presents the study to the physician for review while adhering to patient schedules.
Assists physicians with procedures, provides sonographic guidance during the process, obtains necessary supplies and equipment, and monitors patient needs while supporting patients.
Teaches ultrasound procedures and techniques to visitors in the department (residents, students, fellows, and new sonographers) and develops professionally through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and conferences.
Maintains documentation as required, including patient files, data entry, and paperwork needed for procedures and processes.
Develops film through automatic processing, and monitors darkroom supplies and equipment.
Maintains departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Performs phlebotomy and injections when required.
Assists with maintaining supplies and equipment.
Assists clerical staff with front desk support when needed.
Working Conditions Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Physical Effort: Typically sitting at a desk or table.
Equipment: Office equipment.
Required Qualifications Education:
Associate degree or a combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
Certifications:
The following certifications may be required depending on the role: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - ARDMS, Registered Diagnostic Cardio - ARDMS, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - ARDMS, Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS) - ARDMS.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade, and department budget.
