Scheduled Hours: 40 per week. Monday-Friday, 7:45am-4:15pm. No on-call, weekends, or holidays. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, reviews patient history with the examination, and presents the study to the physician for review while adhering to patient schedules. Assists physicians with procedures, provides sonographic guidance during procedures, ensures supplies and equipment are available, and monitors patient needs in support of physicians. Teaches ultrasound procedures and techniques to residents, students, fellows, and new sonographers; pursues professional growth through educational programs, literature, in-service meetings, and conferences. Maintains documentation including patient files, performs data entry, and completes paperwork needed for procedures/processes. Develops films through automatic processing and monitors darkroom supplies and equipment. Maintains departmental policies, quality assurance, safety, infection control, and environmental standards. Performs phlebotomy and injections when required. Assists with maintaining supplies and equipment; provides front desk support when needed. Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Travel to affiliated sites as needed (Center for Outpatient Health and Barnes-Jewish Hospital campuses and other facilities). Education & Qualifications
Required Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or other ARDMS credentials as applicable. Work Experience No specific work experience required. Preferred Working knowledge of OB, GYN, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine ultrasound scanning and procedures. Skills Ultrasound equipment operation, procedure training, communication, supply management. Salary Salary range: $35.99 - $55.79 per hour. Salary determinations within the range depend on qualifications, performance, equity, market rates, and department budget.
