Position Information The Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) is recruiting a full-time Staff
Hematologist – Oncologist
to join a dynamic team of dedicated providers and ancillary staff. The hired applicant will join a team providing compassionate healthcare to our veteran population.
Position Background SAVACHS is the principal teaching affiliate of the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. Candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment with the University of Arizona commensurate with clinical experience and academic achievement to facilitate teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. Our division members participate in outpatient clinic services including fellows, clinic and in the inpatient consult service. Our hospitalist service reduces the demands of in-patient care in our subspecialty divisions.
Duties The duties and responsibilities of the Physician - Hematology-Oncology include, but are not limited to the following:
Expected to actively participate in quality improvement activities and comply with rules and regulations of the agency, facility and department.
Support a satisfactory process for supervision and training of fellows, residents and medical students from University of Arizona College of Medicine rotating through the Oncology Division.
Maintains American Heart Association BLS certification.
Compliance with VA and SAVAHCS regulatory requirements is expected. Investigators with VA Merit Review Awards are afforded up to thirty-five percent protected time for research
Requirements
US Citizen
Must have an active and unrestricted license in any of the US States
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
Completion of Residency Training in any of the US States
Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
Work Schedule: Full Time, permanent, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
