Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg RN) Location: Washington, DC 20007 Healthcare Setting: Teaching Hospital, Med/Surg Unit Assignment Start Date: October 6, 2025 Assignment End Date: January 26, 2026 Contract Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30) Hours per Week: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Float Requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 Charting System: Cerner Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570-$1680 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending status accepted with proof; must have license in hand prior to start) BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (may consider strong candidates with 1.5+ years in a steady flow) At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system Two supervisor references required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Charge RN experience preferred Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical-surgical diagnoses Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and perform chest tube care Deliver feeding tube care and management Start IVs and manage nasal cannula oxygen therapy Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner Participate in self-scheduling and adhere to weekend and float requirements Take the next step in your travel nursing career with this Med/Surg RN job in Washington, DC.
