Overview
The Division of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine within the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Center at Cleveland Clinic Children’s is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care physician to join our existing group of 9 Cardiac Critical Care Physicians (7 with advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care) and 16 advanced practice providers caring for patients within our Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). The position will have a primary appointment in the Department of Heart, Vascular & Thoracic and a secondary appointment in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Children’s Institute. The successful candidate will be either dual-boarded in pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine or will have completed a 4th year advanced pediatric cardiac critical care fellowship. Clinical activities include direct patient care responsibilities and supervision of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers. Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the PCICU and supervise fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers. Participate in the care of a 33-bed Cardiac Care Unit, including 15 Pediatric Cardiac ICU beds and 18 Cardiac Intermediate Care beds, with ~750 admissions annually. Deliver pre-operative and post-operative care, and provide comprehensive heart failure/transplant services, including mechanical support (ECMO and VAD). Utilize advanced ICU technologies and collaborate with the Fetal Care Center, with dedicated fetal care coordinators and a fetal surgery program. Engage in teaching and research; participate in an active fellowship program and collaborate with the Cardiovascular Innovation Center for Pediatric and Adult Congenital Research. Qualifications
Board-certified in pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine, or completed a 4th-year advanced pediatric cardiac critical care fellowship. Interest in teaching and research; experience supervising trainees is desirable. About Cleveland Clinic Children’s
