Overview
The Division of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine within the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Center at Cleveland Clinic Children's is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care physician to join our existing group of 9 Cardiac Critical Care Physicians (7 with advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care) and 16 advanced practice providers caring for patients within our Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). The position will have a primary appointment in the Department of Heart, Vascular & Thoracic and a secondary appointment in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Children's Institute. The successful candidate will be either dual-boarded in pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine or will have completed a 4th year advanced pediatric cardiac critical care fellowship.
Responsibilities
Clinical activities include direct patient care responsibilities and supervision of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers.
The department includes the 33-bed Cardiac Care Unit, with 15 Pediatric Cardiac ICU beds and 18 Cardiac Intermediate Care beds, and cares for 750 admissions annually; involvement across pre- and post-operative care and heart failure/transplant services, including mechanical support (ECMO and VAD).
Leverages ICU technologies (inhaled nitric oxide, renal replacement therapy, advanced physiologic displays, and predictive analytics).
Our PCICU team also works closely with our advanced Fetal Care Center, with dedicated fetal care coordinators and a fetal surgery program, including fetal cardiac surgery.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be either dual-boarded in pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine or will have completed a 4th year advanced pediatric cardiac critical care fellowship.
An interest in teaching and research is desirable with multiple opportunities for both.

Research is supported by the Cardiovascular Innovation Center for Pediatric and Adult Congenital Research, which has more than 30 research professionals supporting clinical and translational research in our Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Center.
