Senior Director Oncology Services role at MedStar Health. Lead the strategic, financial, and operational oversight of all cancer services within MGCI@MWHC and serve as the primary administrative liaison between cancer center leadership and hospital/system leadership. Collaborate with administrative leaders, department chairs, and clinical teams to advance a comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care program that integrates prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and research. Responsible for the effective use of human, fiscal, and clinical resources and for developing and growing managers and staff within the service line. Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Manages administrative operations of the comprehensive, interdisciplinary oncology program line as a key WHC service line; provide administrative leadership and direction for the oncology service line in collaboration with Medical Director of MGCI@MWHC and the Senior Director of Oncology Nursing. Participates in strategic planning and implementation of key priorities. Develops department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Creates and communicates a shared vision. Ensures compliance with business unit policies, regulations, and accrediting standards. Oversees regulatory reviews and accreditation readiness. Develops strategic business plans aligned with WHC\'s annual operating plan; works with MedStar strategic planning staff on joint ventures and related processes; promotes system-wide oncology network development. Enhances MedStar\'s brand strength through delivering an optimal patient experience across the oncology care continuum; partners with hospital leaders to facilitate patient care and referral services. Organizes administrative functions, delineates responsibilities, and ensures adequate staffing to meet cancer patient needs and those of their families. Prioritizes oncology service line opportunities for capital and operating investments to extend leadership position in the region through clinical and technical excellence. Selected, supervised, evaluated, and initiated personnel actions for MGCI@MWHC\'s management team across oncology cost centers. Maintains and enforces policies and procedures, quality improvement, patient satisfaction, safety, and other administrative performance standards. Collaborates with physicians and nursing leadership to develop patient care protocols, policies, and standards; determines equipment, supplies, and facility needs to support patient care; promotes interdisciplinary coordination. Implements financial policies and procedures for budget planning, monitoring, variance reporting, reimbursement optimization, cost control, and revenue enhancement; supports long-range plans for the oncology service line. Ensures outpatient oncology facilities meet high standards for safe, patient-friendly environments; maintains comprehensive management reporting systems for planning and evaluating the program. Increases cancer program volumes and regional market share; maintains strong relationships with medical staff, referring physicians, hospital leaders, and managed care networks. Develops and manages new revenue-producing cancer-related programs and services aligned with annual operating plans and objectives. Ensures monthly performance targets are met; develops action plans and performance improvement plans as needed; reports progress to VP and senior executive team during monthly operations reviews. Supports oncology research initiatives and philanthropic support for oncology service line initiatives; collaborates with Marketing for annual oncology marketing and communications plans, including outreach and campaigns. Participates in local, regional, and national cancer-related meetings to stay current with trends and advances in oncology program management. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer). Minimum Qualifications

Education Master\'s degree required Experience 8-10 years of progressive management experience in healthcare, with background and experience in oncology required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Ability to be both a leader and a team player; participative management style; strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to develop and implement new programs and services; adaptability to changing healthcare environment; computer literate; entrepreneurial mindset Details
