Executive Director Pay: $200,000 – $250,000 per year Location: Austin, TX (relocation required) Travel: 15–25% (primarily in Texas) About TIADA
Since 1944, the Texas Independent Automobile Dealers Association (TIADA) has been the only statewide organization representing independent automobile dealers. As a 501(c)(6) organization, TIADA is a member-owned, member-governed association with 1,000+ members, a $2M budget, and a strong financial reserve. TIADA is a trusted voice at the Capitol and a leader in education, compliance, and advocacy for the used car industry. The Role
TIADA seeks a dynamic, visionary
Executive Director
to lead the organization, advance its mission, and represent dealers statewide. Reporting to a 13-member Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the chief staff executive, overseeing strategic initiatives, operations, financial management, and government relations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards success of the association. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
– Partner with the Board on strategic planning, ensure effective governance, and support board/committee functions. Ensure the association processes and procedures are in accordance with the organization’s bylaws. Financial Management
– Develop and manage a $2M budget, ensure transparency and accountability, oversee PAC as Treasurer. Advocacy & Public Relations
– Serve as the primary spokesperson, represent TIADA with legislators, agencies, and industry partners, and lead government relations programs. Operations & Staff
– Supervise staff and consultants, foster a collaborative culture, and ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus. Minimum 5 years’ executive leadership experience in an association, state agency, or related field. Strong financial and budgeting acumen. Experience with membership organizations, not-for-profit trade organizations, legislative advocacy, or automotive industry preferred. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Computer savvy with proficiency in MS Office Suites and a familiarity with association management systems or related technologies. Compensation & Benefits
$200,000–$250,000 annual salary based on experience 401(k) plan with 3% match Paid time off Car & phone stipend Location: This is an in-person position.
