Technical Lead, Principal Software Engineer . This role focuses on ensuring successful and efficient software development across projects within our
Maritime Intelligence Business . Responsibilities include leading software design, architecture, and process documentation to support project acceleration while maintaining high quality standards. This position is restricted to US persons (US citizens, permanent residents, protected individuals) due to access to export-controlled technology. Proof of status will be required prior to employment. Proven ability in: Designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software for robotic systems Architecting software solutions integrated with hardware, sensors, and control systems Meeting real-time performance and reliability requirements Fostering a collaborative, innovative team culture Communicating technical concepts effectively to stakeholders Leading design reviews and roadmap planning Staying current with emerging technologies Addressing technical challenges proactively Experience with: Engineering development tools for software Fast-paced, customer-focused environments Cross-discipline teams Organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to obtain security clearance Qualifications: BSc (acceptable) or MSc (preferred) in Computer Science or related field 7+ years embedded software development experience 3+ years in a lead role Fluency in C, C++, ROS2, Java, Python, Zephyr OS, Ubuntu 22; RTOS experience a plus Experience with I2C, Ethernet, serial, GPIO, CI/CD Experience with robotics, uncrewed, and military systems Proficiency in software requirements, specifications, and design reviews Familiarity with ISO 9001 and CMMI (desired) Knowledge of cloud/network data management (plus) Experience with navigation, localization, and autonomy (plus) Preferred qualities: Business development experience, proposal writing Machine learning, computer vision, AI Safety-critical software standards Agile, DevOps practices Government contract experience Quality management systems This position is restricted to US persons due to export-controlled technology access.
