Responsibilities
Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions, adhering to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and fostering a customer-service culture among hotel staff.
Ensure staff are trained on front desk operations, hotel facilities and services, local directions, safety and emergency procedures; ensure staff have necessary supplies.
Supervise front desk and reservation functions to deliver superior guest services, and safeguard monies, credit card transactions, and guest information.
Oversee cash and credit card transaction security and guest information protection.
Supervise seasonal demand reservation strategy (room type and length of stay pricing) using Opera and Synxis to maximize revenue through occupancy and rate adjustments based on market conditions.
Establish effective Front Desk communication and information systems through logs, meetings, and one-on-one interactions.
Fulfill guest special requests and ensure proper delivery of guest services.
Supervise the Market and ensure it is stocked and maintained in an orderly, appealing manner.
Establish and implement service recovery guidelines; respond to guest complaints promptly and professionally.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and management.
Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room locations; answer phones promptly and courteously.
Supervise accurate processing of all cash and credit card transactions, postings, cashier reports, deposits, and cash handling procedures.
Communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management for monitoring or follow-up.
Regularly sell hotel rooms through direct client contact.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of previous hotel experience required.
Previous background in the extended stay industry preferred.
Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred.
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities preferred.
ServSafe certification required; TIPS certification may be required.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility; ability to carry, lift, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
Schedule flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Range:
$31.22/HR. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors including job knowledge, skills, and experience.
