Hospital, affiliated with DMH, seeks Board-certified or eligible psychiatrists for full-time attending positions in a general adult psychiatric unit. The hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited (JCAHO) facility operated by the Southeast Area of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Attend on a 166-bed continuing and acute care facility, providing inpatient services to adults and geriatrics, as well as forensic evaluations. On-call available for extra compensation but not required. The caseload for a full-time psychiatrist on one of the DMH inpatient units is approximately 16 patients. No managed care. Weekend/night call is not required, although shifts are available. Psychiatrists have the option of becoming full-time faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine and Tufts Medical Center.
