MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligible for state medical license. Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and gastroenterology fellowship. Board eligible/board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. About the Service Line and Facilities
Our GI and Hepatology service line offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, treats a medically diverse population, and provides exposure to clinically challenging cases. We have a new and expanding endoscopy center including state-of-the-art suites for advanced procedures and ERCPs, with close access to adjacent specialty clinics. Academic and Institutional Support
Tremendous institutional support for academic pursuits, particularly pertaining to chronic viral hepatitis and inflammatory bowel disease, is available. We offer treatment to residents of West Virginia as well as patients from five border states. There is a culture of professionalism and cooperation within the Department of Medicine. The growing Section of Digestive Diseases offers opportunities to build and design programs within a large referral academic center. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. The System has expanded in specialty and sub-specialty care and operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, with a new 150-bed Children’s Hospital opened in September 2022. It includes more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees across a multi-state region. Location and Community
