Overview

The Department of Pediatrics and The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota seeks a board-certified/eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on an academic track to join the Pediatric Gastroenterology team. The team is currently comprised of six Pediatric Gastroenterology physicians and two Pediatric Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioners. Position Highlights

This position will include clinical duties working at M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital and clinics as well as outreach clinics. Participation in instructing medical students, residents, and fellows, clinical practice through MPhysicians, and service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and the profession. Participation in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities, either as a collaborator or independent researcher, and participation in faculty development activities tailored to career interests and goals. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE). Faculty will be active in national organizations and will cultivate an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty. About the Division

The Division plays an integral role in hepatology and liver transplantation, hosting one of the longest-standing liver transplant programs in the United States. The Division is home to a nationally-recognized division addressing chronic and acute recurrent pancreatitis in children. Our research portfolio includes clinical research in gastrointestinal complications of cystic fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease, food insecurity, sarcopenia and chronic pancreatitis. The mission of the Department of Pediatrics is to generate new knowledge through research, apply this knowledge to high-quality health care for prevention and treatment of childhood illness, and educate the next generation of medical students, physicians, and health professionals in childhood disease prevention, treatment, research, and advocacy. The Department aims to improve the lives of children in the community, nation, and world. Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Pediatric residency and a three-year fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Board-eligible/certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in Minnesota and meet credentialing/privileges criteria. Ability to work in the United States. Our site can process J-1 visas. Pay and Benefits

This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range is $199,000–$306,500, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and clinical effort. Salary from the University depends on academic effort. M Physicians provides the following benefits: Substantial 401K employer contribution.
