Overview The Department of Pediatrics at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Division of Pediatric Cardiology, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist with advanced training in Interventional Cardiology to join a growing, well-established group of academic cardiologists.

Responsibilities

Caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease needing cardiac catheterization for diagnosis and management.

Shared call and coverage of the cath lab for scheduled and after-hours emergent cases; all division members rotate in covering general pediatric cardiology night and weekend call.

Clinical responsibilities include inpatient service coverage (rotating) and seeing patients in an outpatient clinic (approximately 1.5 days/week).

Academic duties including teaching, research, and administration in addition to clinical service.

Team context: Cardiac Cath lab team with 2 Pediatric Interventional Cardiologists and ~6 cath lab personnel; work with cardiothoracic colleagues and anesthesia/ICU teams.

Division and Facilities The Cardiology division is housed within the Dorothy and Larry Dallas Heart Center at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. The division consists of eleven pediatric cardiologists, two clinical nurse practitioners, dedicated clinic nurses, and a pediatric cardiology fellowship program. The heart center includes an active congenital heart surgery program with 2 surgeons and ~300 cases/year with strong surgical results. Facilities include state-of-the-art operating rooms, a 65-bed Level IV NICU, a 20-bed PICU, a hybrid cath lab/operating suite, and a dedicated electrophysiology laboratory. The hospital is a not-for-profit, free-standing children's hospital affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine. A new free-standing Children's Hospital is being built, including 2 cardiac cath labs (one hybrid) and a 24-bed Cardiac floor (CVICU/step-down).

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will join the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Team at the level of Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MD or equivalent degree; board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics; eligible for medical licensure in Missouri.

Completion of an ACGME-accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology with additional training in pediatric Interventional cardiology.
