$128.00/hr - $128.00/hr Description

The incumbent will carry out psychiatric examinations and assessments, make diagnoses, write physician’s orders, determine the need for and carry out consultations with external psychiatric personnel and managed care companies, educate patients individually, participate with other clinical staff on the treatment team, respond to psychiatric emergencies, carry out discharge planning and post-discharge referral, carry out quality improvement activities, supervise a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry, and other tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Psychiatrist 2: Must possess a license to practice medicine in New York State and certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or by a foreign board which is clearly equivalent in its requirements. Psychiatrist 1: Must possess a license to practice medicine in New York State and proof of satisfactory completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for entrance into their certifying exam. Must be eligible for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs which must be maintained for continued employment. Failure to do so will result in the termination of employment. Additional Information

Prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL), investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), and screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
