Overview
Physician (Psychiatrist) role at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This position is located at White River Junction VA Medical Center (WRJ VAMC) with coverage at Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Vermont and New Hampshire. The incumbent will dedicate 50% of time to Primary Mental Health Care (PCMHI) and 40% to outpatient clinical care and on-call duties. A clinical appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, Dartmouth Medical School, provides opportunities to work with residents and medical students. The incumbent will have some latitude to define outpatient clinical duties collaboratively with the Supervising Psychiatrist.
Responsibilities
Provide primary mental health care and outpatient psychiatric services as described (50% PCMHI, 40% outpatient clinical care and on-call duties).
Collaborate with the Supervising Psychiatrist to define outpatient clinical duties.
Work as part of a team of approximately 15 clinical psychiatrists, outpatient RNs, clinical pharmacists, and social workers to deliver care to Veterans.
Hold a clinical appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, Dartmouth Medical School and engage with residents and medical students.
Participate in program activities across WRJ VA and affiliated Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Burlington, Bennington, Brattleboro, Rutland, Keene, Newport, and other locations as assigned.
Work Schedule Full time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. A compressed tour may be negotiable at management discretion.
Telework Telework eligible on an ad hoc basis per agency policy.
Education and Licensure
Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an approved school.
Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Board eligible or Board certified in Psychiatry.
Basic Requirements
United States Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed only as permitted by VA policy).
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Residency training approved by the VA or equivalent, leading to eligibility for board certification.
Other residencies with appropriate experience may be considered.

Pay: Competitive salary with annual performance bonus and potential for salary increases.
