Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited school. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the US or its territories. Residency Training: Completion of an approved residency program leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those accredited by ACGME, AOA, or other programs deemed appropriate by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee. Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible for appointment as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs), who must be fully licensed physicians and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Requirement: Board certified or eligible Otolaryngologist. Preferred experience includes 1-3 years of recent surgical experience. Physical Requirements: Must meet physical standards, including a pre-placement physical exam, and be able to lift 15-44 pounds, push for 2 hours, reach above shoulder, use fingers and both hands, walk and stand for 3-5 hours, kneel, and have good depth perception and color discrimination. Hearing aid use is permitted. Duties

Eligible applications received after the initial cut-off will be considered as vacancies become available.
