The Division of Pediatric Neurology at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Neurologist subspecializing in Neonatal Neurology. About the Division
The Division of Pediatric Neurology is comprised of 13 Pediatric Neurologists, 9 NPs, two social workers, a neuropsychologist, one research assistant, and a ketogenic diet specialist. It has an ACGME-approved residency training program (two per year) and an ACGME-approved pediatric epilepsy fellowship training program (one per year). Faculty participate in the curriculum of the General Pediatric Residency Training Program. The division offers a robust clinical and scholastic experience in a family-centered region of New York. Facilities include a dedicated 10-bed neuroscience unit (Level 4 NAEC) for surgical patients, stereoEEG with the ROSA robot, and a three-bed sleep lab. There are opportunities in multiple locations across the metropolitan region. The center is committed to excellence in pediatric neurology, including a newly renovated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (NAEC Level 4) opened in 2022. The division oversees 40,000 deliveries per year in the Northwell Health system, with many NIH-funded research projects. The chairman of Pediatrics is a Neonatologist. The division also has a robust Pediatric Genetics division. Faculty have appointments at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The division has an active research program with intramural and extramural funding and ongoing several drug studies. Cohen Children’s Medical Center opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area’s only hospital designed exclusively for children.
