Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences/McPherson Eye Research Institute 2025-08-12 The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, cutting-edge research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for a Uveitis position that will involve patient care, teaching, and research. The position will be estimated at the following: uveitis (.4 FTE) and one of the following: comprehensive, medical retina, or glaucoma (.4 FTE) and academic time (.2 FTE) ophthalmology position. Candidates must be eligible for a Wisconsin medical license at the time of hire. Research opportunities are available for interested candidates. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law, and every four years. Key Job Responsibilities:

-Care of ophthalmology patients with a portion of practice focused on the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis eye diseases, and a portion of practice providing clinical ophthalmology care in comprehensive, medical retina, or glaucoma. -Responsibilities will include the care of patients in Ophthalmology Clinics at the UW Health Clinics, University Station Eye Clinic, and possibly the William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital, Unity Point Health Meriter Hospital, and clinical outreach site(s). Patient visits include walk-in and/or emergency patients. -Responsibilities will also include participation in ophthalmology call duties. -The position will be responsible for teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students, with a portion of time allotted to clinical research activities and academic service to the department. -Participate in Departmental, School of Medicine and Public Health, and University of Wisconsin committees as assigned. -Board-certified or board-eligible for Wisconsin Medical License by start of position. -Completion of a U.S. Uveitis Ophthalmology accredited residency and fellowship by the start date of the position. Preferred Qualifications:

-Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) or full Professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track. Education:
