Under the direction of the Post-Surgical Unit/ED/Float Pool Clinical Supervisor, provide comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical and telemetry patients in accordance with hospital mission, vision, and goals. Uphold professional standards and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (state board of nursing, American Nurses Association, The Joint Commission). Provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice and act in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Implement physician orders, administer and document medications safely, and perform nursing interventions as needed. Document accurately in the electronic health record reflecting patient condition, treatment, and admit/discharge/transfer status. Maintain up-to-date patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes; educate patients and families about care and expectations. Adhere to safety, infection control, and National Patient Safety Goals; maintain professionalism in interactions with staff, patients, and families. Utilize email and computer systems (including EHR) to manage staff communication and coordinate patient care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Liscensure/Certification: Current Texas RN License; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained within 60 days of hire). Experience: Two years of RN experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry, or one year Critical Care/Emergency/PACU; post-surgical experience in orthopedics or spine highly preferred. Benefits
