Overview
Reporting to the Director of Street Health, the Street Health Manager leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing behavioral health outreach and engagement to unhoused and unsheltered individuals across San Francisco. This role is central to the City’s efforts to deliver trauma-informed, street-based care where it’s needed most. Responsibilities
Lead and support teams deliver street-based behavioral health services. Oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation of neighborhood-based initiatives. Manage contracts and partnerships with community-based organizations. Coordinate with city agencies, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders to align services and maximize impact. Represent DPH in citywide Street Health initiatives and strategic planning efforts. What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership in public health, behavioral health, or homeless services, with a strong focus on substance use disorders. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, community-based programs. Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders. A demonstrated commitment to racial equity, including the ability to evaluate and advocate for new and existing resources that meet the needs of San Francisco’s culturally diverse communities. Required Qualifications
Three (3) years of professional experience in behavioral health services for people experiencing homelessness or with significant mental health or substance use needs, including at least two (2) years of verifiable experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD, PsyD). Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirements by the final filing date unless otherwise noted. One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (based on a 40-hour work week). Desirable Qualifications
Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health care setting. Required License and Certification
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) Clinical Psychologist (PhD, PsyD) issued by the California Board of Psychology Seniority level
