Danbury Hospital, located in Danbury, Connecticut, just 60 minutes north of New York City in Fairfield County and next to Westchester County in NY, is seeking a
Hematologist/Oncologist
with interest in hematology and/or solid tumors to join its established and growing practice. Our large team offers opportunities to sub-specialize within our practice. Our Cancer Institute is expanding rapidly, enhancing our clinical trial portfolio and positioning ourselves as a destination cancer program in the region. The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in hematology and/or oncology with a subspecialty interest in solid tumors and/or hematology. Candidates with a focus on hematology are also encouraged to apply. We welcome new and recent graduates. The role includes some teaching of medicine residents and medical students. We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary, incentives, and allowances for CME and Dues expenses. Danbury Hospital is part of Nuvance Health, comprising 7 hospitals and cancer centers across western Connecticut and southeastern New York, diagnosing approximately 4,600 new cancer cases annually. The hospital provides tertiary oncology services and is accredited as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons. Key elements of a comprehensive oncology service line are in place, including state-of-the-art radiation oncology and surgical specialties in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology, and Hepatobiliary Surgery. On-site nurse navigation, genetic counseling, and screening are available. There are ample opportunities for research and clinical trials. Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital with 371 beds and a Level II Trauma Center, serving approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. It is affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine.
